Blepharitis
Blepharitis

My mother has been suffering from chronic blepharitis, with a thick discharge. She bathes her eyes twice a day without much success. Is there an alternative that would help alleviate this condition?

Since topical treatments have not worked to stop the problem, I suggest your mother considers a homeopathic remedy instead. As you may already know, classical homeopathy does not prescribe according to a particular condition but according to the constitutional type of a person - and for this, your mother would need to consult a qualified homeopath.

That said, there is another way of using homeopathy which is not as traditional but can still be effective, and that is to simply buy the remedy you think you need for a specific complaint over the counter. Think of this as more of a first aid approach.

In this case, your mother should try Pulsatilla. Homeopathic remedies work in the opposite way to conventional medicine where the higher the dose, the more potent the action. With homeopathy, the greater the dilution, the higher the potency. Your mother should start with a 30c strength, which is a medium dosage, and take the pills according to the directions on the label. You can mail order homeopathic remedies from Ainsworths on 0207 935 5330.
