Black cohosh or Meno Herb?

I gave up taking HRT a year ago, after using it for 13 years and switched to Meno Herb as recommended by you. However, I have read that while black cohosh is better than red clover, it could affect the liver - so I am confused. Is it safe to continue with Meno Herb, which is working for me, or should I now change to black cohosh?

Meno Herb, as I have written before (and which so many women are now successfully using to help manage the symptoms of menopause), contains all the hormone and mood-supporting phyto (plant) oestrogens you could ask for; including red clover and black cohosh.

I am not aware of any clinical trials that have established black cohosh as being more effective and thus better than red clover but there is new research suggesting black cohosh, which is a relative of the buttercup plant, may be safer than we thought.

There had been concern that it could increase the toxicity of breast cancer chemotherapy drugs and trigger the wider spread of cancer. Animal studies suggest this is not the case and that black cohosh has a more mood supporting and calming action than hormone changing role.

Everything we ingest affects the liver because it processes all the chemicals that pass through the body but the dosages of both red clover and black cohosh in Meno Herb are both therapeutic and safe. In your shoes, I would not switch to the single herb but stay with the combination formula, not least because it works for you.
