Autism recommendations
As the father of a nine-year-old autistic son, is there anything you can recommend for these children?
In America, parents of autistic children report a dramatic improvement in their child’s condition following injections of a digestive hormone called Secretin. The trouble with this is that nobody can really explain why it should work, there could be a long-term risk of side-effects and even if you find a doctor who will agree to do it, you may be charged up to £1,500 per shot.
Here in Britain, more parents have opted instead for a homeopathic solution. Reporting mixed but mostly favourable results, hundreds of families have been testing a form of homeopathic secretin which costs just £9. (If you are not convinced about homeopathy, you will be fascinated to learn that when scientists set out to prove homeopathy could not possibly work, they found the complete opposite: in other words, cells really do respond to ultra-dilutions that biologists would have considered negligible.)
Use a liquid form of homeopathic secretin, which you add to your child’s normal drinks. Give three drops in a little water, twice a day but avoid dosing either before or after teeth cleaning since the peppermint in toothpaste can interfere with its action.
Parents reporting improvements say they start to see positive changes - including improved language skills, better concentration, more restful sleep - within two weeks. Changes can continue for another month after which you may notice a “plateau.” At this stage, stop the remedy. If the benefits then disappear, reintroduce it.
