Verrucas - an ongoing problem

My young son has an ongoing problem with verrucas, which I have been treating with over-the-counter products to no avail. Our GP says they will disappear of their own accord in time but I am concerned about the risk of them spreading, particularly since both my sons are keen swimmers.

Lots of families now keep tea tree oil in the natural medicine chest and although you may be buying it to treat verrucas, you will find it an invaluable antiseptic for all sorts of minor health problems, including cuts, sore throats (dilute five drops of the pure oil in warm water to make a gargle) and even bee stings.

Five times stronger than most household disinfectants, it is a complex substance made up of at least 48 different compounds and yet remains entirely safe to use on the skin. To treat all warts, including verrucas, do not dilute the oil but apply directly to the affected areas two or three times a day. You can also use tea tree to clear athlete’s foot, another health hazard for youngsters who swim regularly.

You can also use one of the less well-known biochemical tissue salts that are now widely on sale in independent healthstores to clear this infection. These work in a similar way to homeopathy and the one you need for verrucas and other warts is Chloride of potash which is sometimes sold as kali mur.

Tissue salts, which are present in all body tissues, were first isolated and studied by a Dr W. H. Schuessler and so sometimes, you will see them referred to as Schuessler biochemical cell salts. His theory was that infections and illness were usually the result of a deficiency in one of these salts and that if you corrected the deficiency with supplementation, the body could then heal itself. In other words, tissue salts are a remedy not a cure.
