Ruptured Achilles tendon
I have ruptured my Achilles tendon and have been in plaster for one week now. I have been taking Ruta and Glucosamine/Chondroitin in the hope these will aid recovery. Am I doing the right thing?
The homeopathic remedy, Ruta Graveolens, which is made from the plant rue, is the right first aid remedy for injuries to tendons, ligaments and cartilage so you are absolutely taking the right remedy. My only question would be what potency are you using? Remember, with homeopathy, the more dilute the preparation, the stronger the potency and in your case, you should be using at least a 30c preparation in the short term.
The combination of glucosamine and chondroitin is also excellent to aid recovery and relieve pain. The glucosamine works to help re-build lost cartilage and the chondroitin acts to attract more fluid into the spaces around joints to keep them lubricated.
What you may not know is that you can also now get glucosamine skin patches, developed in Japan and sold here by Health Perception, the joint specialist supplement company. For more details, contact the Nutri Centre on 0800 587 2290.
