Mouth ulcer spray
I have always been prone to mouth ulcers but seem to be suffering even more now than ever. I have tried over-the-counter rinses but to no avail. Is there an herbal remedy that would help?
I usually save questions on this subject until Christmas time so I can write about myrrh oil, which is the traditional (and seasonal) herbal mouth ulcer remedy.
That said, a lot of people dislike the taste and so I have found an “alternative” which, although it includes myrrh, comes in a better tasting spray form and includes soothing aloe vera and yarrow, as well as myrrh.
The aptly-named Ulsore spray is a new addition to the excellent Salcura colloidal range in which every single product also includes manuka plus disinfecting tea tree.
If you get into the habit of using this spray to treat existing ulcers and then using the herbal powder, Dental Miracle, to prevent them in the first place, you should be able to prevent these recurrences. It is the single remedy I would take to a desert island since it not only works to promote healthier gums but also freshens the breath and whitens teeth.
Dental Miracle costs £17.99 for a 9g pot, which should last several months and is available by mail order from Victoria Health (0800 413596). This UK supplier is also the exclusive distributor of the Salcura range. Ulsore costs £9.99 for a 50ml spray; use two or three times a day to get rid of mouth ulcers.
