IV vitamins for Chronic Fatigue
I have suffered from ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) for some years and am now looking for a practitioner in this country who will carry out intravenous vitamin injections to try and kick start my system. Can you recommend anyone?
One of the speakers at the British Naturopathic Association’s recent public meeting on digestive health was the naturopath and medical herbalist, Rosalind Blackwell, who has an impressive 90% success rate in treating these two difficult conditions.
She works with her partner, a medically qualified doctor, Michael Jones, to devise a treatment programme for sufferers that does include intravenous injections of a cocktail of nutrients - but warns that it is misleading to think a single, one-off shot will kick start your system.
Recovering from ME or CFS requires an enormous commitment from the patient. Severe cases, for example, can take up to a year to be resolved. At the outset, you may need one or two IV injections a week and you will need the willpower to keep going when your recovery seems to plateau, when you get worse before you get better and when it seems like the treatment is never-ending.
Blackwell and her partner practise something called the Bioecology Programme where, instead of targeting the symptoms, they treat an illness from the foundation of good digestive health. They also use high-resolution microscopy and conventional lab tests to monitor the patient’s progress.
According to Blackwell, ME and CFS are usually a sign of a generalised enzyme dysfunction. IV nutrition will help, but you may have to be patient. The process of healing is a long one and there are no quick fixes.
