Is relora addictive?
I have taken advice from your page and have been using Relora to manage stress levels. I stick with the recommended dosage of three capsules a day and have no problems but I am concerned it may be addictive and want to know if I don’t take it every day will it still be effective and how long do I have to take it for it to work?
As a general rule of thumb, you need to take a therapeutic dose of any herbal remedy for at least three months to give it a chance to really kick in. The difficulty you have in assessing the effectiveness of anything you are using to manage stress is that stress itself, levels of which can fluctuate wildly, is so difficult to measure and monitor.
If you are finding that this remedy is now working for you, you can certainly experiment with the dosage and cut back to two capsules a day. What you need to remember though, is that in clinical trials, patients given a daily dosage of 200mg of relora, three times a day, were found to have much lower levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, and if you want the same results, you need to make sure you are taking the same dose.
What does occur to me is that you may not be aware that relora, which is made from an extract of the magnolia plant and one of my all-time best discoveries, is now included in an even better calming and stress-management formulation called Calm and Calmer which is made by the excellent US supplement company, Lifetime. This combines relora with another of my top-rated herbs, stress-busting rhodiola, and has now replaced the controversially banned Kava Kava as the best-selling calming agent I know of.
