Integrated Medical Centre
I have Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, diagnosed two years ago. I was treated with Chlorenbucil for six months, which gave a partial remission, but I still have a platelet deficiency. I have been on steroids to no avail. I would prefer advice from a qualified doctor with complementary interests. Did I hear somewhere about an Integrated Medical Centre in London that might be able to help?
Despite pumping millions of pounds into cancer research, science has yet to find a single factor cause for cancer. Common sense would suggest that diet and lifestyle, as well as environmental carcinogens, and genetic defects, must play a role - but this is a debate that still divides healthcare practitioners.
The organisation which will help point you in the right direction is the American People Against Cancer which launched a UK branch last year. You should also get in touch with the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, which first published a study that showed patients who changed their diets and managed stress had better survival rates than those who did not. The study, published in the Lancet, was rubbished because the trial was not randomised and because those surveyed were in the advanced stages of the disease.
The Integrated Centre you have heard of brings together doctors with an interest in complementary medicine and complementary practitioners under one roof. The treatment programme offered may include homoeopathy, massage and nutritional advice, as well as conventional medicine, The Centre also has a special interest in Ayurvedic medicine to support your system while you detox and tackle this disease.
