HIV positive

Our son has just been diagnosed as being HIV positive. I have checked your website and you have not covered this topic before. Do you have any advice for keeping him well?

Clinical trials investigating the usefulness of supplementation among HIV-infected patients living in Bangkok concentrated on the use of an inexpensive British supplement made by Vitabiotics and called Immunace which is widely on sale in High Street stores here, including Boots.

A total of 481 HIV-infected men and women took part in the 48-week-long trial which concluded that taking Immunace significantly helped to reduce the mortality rate of patients with a CD4 cell count below 200 per microlitre.

For more on this fascinating research, which certainly suggests those patients who took the supplement had a better survival prognosis than those given a placebo pill, visit www.aidsonline.com which carries a full copy of the study and its results.

The patent-pending supplement, which aims to counter nutritional deficiencies which can adversely tip the balance towards sickness when the immune system is already compromised, provides vitamins A, D, E, C, K and B complex plus natural carotenoids, amino acids and minerals, including magnesium and selenium.

In the meantime, if this were a member of my family, I would book them an appointment with one of the country’s top homeopaths, Dr Neil Slade, who has a special interest in working with HIV and AIDS patients. Dr Slade, a conventionally-trained scientist, practices in both South London and Harley Street and can be contacted at the Pure Medicine Clinic on 020 7486 0908. An initial appointment costs £110, follow-up appointments cost £70.
