Eczema in young babies
You mentioned a few weeks ago that lots of your friends have babies who suffer from eczema. I have twins, who are now nine months old, and do not want to be using steroid creams. What is a good alternative?
I see so many products each week it is quite difficult for the makers to grab my attention with anything new, especially for these chronic skin conditions. Happily, I have found a new range which I am excited about and which includes a topical spray lotion gentle enough to use on babies, so here are the details.
Salcura has been formulated by a German biochemist who clearly knows his stuff; not least because it is based on the concept of colloidal liquids. I have written about antifungal colloidal silver before, but this clever little range harnesses the healing properties of some of my favourite agents including tea tree and manuka honey. In simple terms, a colloid is a suspension of a micro-particle of an active agent in a liquid (usually water).
The Gentle spray has been formulated specifically for infants up to 12 months who are prone to nappy rash, eczema, dermatitis and dry skin but it also excellent for adults who have hypersensitive skin and similar problems (not the nappy rash, obviously).
Salcura’s Gentle Spray, which costs £9.99 for 50ml, includes Dead Sea minerals and calendula (marigold) and is newly available from Victoria Health (0800 413596).
