Eczema during pregnancy
Eczema during pregnancy

Ever since the birth of my first child, I have suffered from eczema on my hands. I was using a prescription steroid cream but am now in the early stages of pregnancy with my second child and want to find something more natural.

Have you tried or even heard of a 100% natural cream for eczema called SK Cream? I have recommended it here before but since it is not in the shops or in any mail order catalogue, it has become one of those secret remedies that insiders tell their relatives and friends about.

I was first alerted to its reputation by a Nursery Nurse who wrote to say she always keeps a jar in the fridge to treat youngsters who can’t stop scratching their eczema. That was three years ago and I can’t think of a single other natural health product which, despite the huge demand for it, has stayed at the same price. In other words, the makers are not just in it for the money.

Developed quietly by a family of organic farmers in Lincolnshire to treat their own relatives who were suffering from this skin problem, word spread of its effectiveness and they now ship some 20,000 tubs to 20 different countries around the world every year.

They make the cream from almond oil, chamomile, organic beeswax and borage, plus lanolin which works to soothe the skin. However, some sufferers report an allergic reaction to this latter ingredient and so there is also a lanolin-free version. A 30g tub of SK Cream still costs £9.95 which includes p&p. To order, call 01526-832491.There is only one ordering line so please you be patient if you cannot get through straight away. Once you have opened the cream, keep it in the fridge.

Eczema can also be a sign of a deficiency in Biotin - a member of the B-complex family. Natural food sources include nuts, milk, fruits, egg yolks and unpolished rice but it is usually included in most B complex supplements and most good multivitamins where it works synergistically with vitamins B2, B6, niacin and vitamin A which is also important for healthy skin.
