Changing life patterns
Changing life patterns

What can you suggest for someone whose life just seems to have got stuck? I’m stuck in the same old patterns, the same old relationships and the same old job and, although other people think I am successful, at 42 feel I have nothing to look forward to. I am quite private and do not want to get involved with a therapist. Is there anything out there for me?

I have the perfect therapy for you, not least because you do not have to talk at all. The Metamorphic Technique is one of those little-known therapies that everyone who stumbles across swears by because it not only changes lives, it changes them fast.

The Technique evolved out of reflexology but is not the same. The theory is that we are all born with a “cellular” and usually traumatic “memory” of pre-birth events (in other words, things that were happening in the emotional lives of our parents while we were in the womb) and that this technique works to release both those “memories” and patterns of behaviour that we come into the world with.

It is difficult to explain how or why it works but I can tell you what will happen when you book an appointment. You will simply sit in a chair while the practitioner massages first the inner sides of both feet, from the heel to the toes, then the hands, from the thumb to the wrist and finally, the head.

If you accept the premise that your body is holding on to memories and patterns that are now blocking you from moving on to a more fulfilling life then this is the therapy for you. It might sound New Agey, but many of the people who have investigated this technique are high fliers who would be perceived as already being very successful by outsiders.

Named as one of the best 100 complementary therapists in London, Audrey Pasternak is a leading practitioner who has pioneered The Metamorphic Technique in the UK. She charges £75 per session and works both in London and Buckinghamshire. For details or an appointment, call 020 7221 4602 or 0797 9245016.
