Cluster headachesSix years ago, my 33-year-old son was diagnosed as having cluster headaches. Since then, he has taken various medications which have kept the worst of these headaches at bay - but a few weeks ago, he started a new cluster and nothing has helped. He took Prednisolone for a week, which deadened the pain but did not make it go completely. He has now been put on Verapamil which does not seem to be helping either. Can you suggest any alternative?... Read Answer

Vitamin C as an anti-histamineI had been told that taking vitamins B and C together will have an anti-histamine action in the body. Since I am a hay fever sufferer, I wondered if this is true. Also, my daughter recently suffered an anaphylactic reaction to a wasp sting. Would these remedies help her too?... Read Answer
BetacaroteneFor several years, I’ve taken Nature’s Plus Natural Beta Carotene capsules 25,000 IU Vitamin A Activity (this is what’s written on the label). It is made by a US company called Natural Organics Inc but my supplier has stopped importing it. It’s an amazing cure for colds - I take six capsules, along with 1g of vitamin C at the first sign of infection - and it always works. Do you know where I can get it or something similar? I’ve searched the Internet with no luck.... Read Answer
Eczema and allergies in infantsMy 13-month-old daughter suffers from eczema, is allergic to cow’s milk and sensitive to eggs. She is prone to thrush and I wondered if there is anything that could help her fight these infections. The last attack was triggered by antibiotics. I am also very worried about her upcoming MMR. We’re seeing a paediatrician soon but she’s had painful reactions to all her previous vaccinations.... Read Answer

Persistent respiratory problemsI have been suffering from respiratory problems for around 12 months - these include a sore throat, hoarse voice and deep-seated cough - all of which leave me feeling exhausted. I am now waiting for a chest X-ray although my doctor seems to think I am simply prone to viral infections. Is there anything I could take to relieve these symptoms?... Read Answer
